About Care Net of Southern Maryland
Care Net Pregnancy Center of Southern Maryland is a Christian-principled, non-political, non-profit ministry whose goal is to encourage and promote full-term pregnancies. We come alongside women as they are making life-altering decisions, letting them know that someone cares about them and values them. We offer support, a listening ear, accurate information, and practical help – but we also challenge them to think about their future and how the decisions and choices they are making will affect that future. And we point them to God, because we know that He is the only real and lasting solution to the problems they are facing. Our clients say that they appreciate the respectful, compassionate, genuine nonjudgmental environment at our Centers. What they experience is Truth spoken out of sincere love.
Care Net SoMD is a Christ-centered organization that offers no-cost support and licensed medical services to women facing unplanned pregnancies in Southern Maryland.

For the past 30+ years, abortion rights and the intrinsic value of human life have been a political hot button in our nation. Since 1973, when abortion in the U.S. was legalized nationally, over 55 million babies have been aborted. It is estimated that 43% of all women will have at least one abortion by the time they are 45 years old.
Our History
Care Net Pregnancy Center of Southern Maryland opened its doors in 1991 with a mission of reaching out to women who were facing an unplanned pregnancy with hope, practical support, and good information. We believe that each individual is a unique creation of God and we desire to see healthy babies born to mothers who are themselves healthy and better prepared to provide a loving, safe home or make an adoption plan for their babies.
We have grown from serving 200-500 clients a year to serving that many every month. We now offer services at our main office in Lexington Park, our branch office in Prince Frederick, and on our Mobile Unit that travels throughout Southern Maryland. Over the years, the scope of our programs and services has grown as well. Our desire is to be the first place women turn when facing an unplanned pregnancy. We then want to encourage them with good, accurate information, quality programs, practical support, and ongoing help.
