Care Net Pregnancy Center of Southern Maryland (Care Net SoMD) has a part-time or full-time staff position available for a Development and Communications Manager.
As an ambassador of Jesus Christ and a key member of the Care Net SoMD leadership team, the Development and Communications Manager works closely with the Executive Director to plan and implement a development and communications plan that will encourage, maintain, and increase the philanthropic support necessary to meet the immediate and long-term needs of Care Net SoMD. The Development and Communications Manager will design, implement, coordinate, and evaluate programs in the following areas of fund development: annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, matching gifts, capital campaigns, life annuity giving, and other ongoing events in accordance with the strategic fund-raising plan. The Development and Communications Manager will also participate in the planning and execution of Care Net SoMD’s annual, planned fundraising events, create and maintain the donor database, work with the Executive Director to find and write grants, and oversee the organizations communications (donor and client, print and electronic).
The ideal candidate will:
• Be a committed Christian who demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord
• Exhibit strong commitment and dedication to the pro-life position and sexual purity
• Agree with and be willing to uphold the Commitment of Care and Competence, Core Values, Statement of Faith, and policies of the organization
• Have a bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in business, communications, or a helping field; or have equivalent experience
• Have at least 1 year of ministry experience as a volunteer, employee, or financial supporter
• Have experience in marketing, fundraising, event management, and public relations/development (experience in foundational grants and development of major donors preferred)
• Exhibit strong skills in interpersonal communication, public speaking, writing, effective media relations, Excel spreadsheets, desk top publishing, and PowerPoint
• Be able to work independently and as a member of a team
• Possess strong people skills
• Be able to provide spiritual leadership, discipleship, encouragement, and direction for the staff members and volunteers
This may be a part-time or full-time position. Salary range is $27-$39 per hour, commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications.
